Prologue
The year was 1638 a boy of the age of 18 years old was waiting for his fiancée by the family lake. As he waited he juggled two rocks, but instead of using his hands he used his min. His name was Constantine Haven. He was from a poor family who lived in a small house in a small village with his mother, Rachael and father Samuel. He had seven younger siblings: three brothers, Joshua, Joseph and Michael; and four sisters: Anna, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Hannah. All thought their house was small they managed to build another small hut that Constantine sleep in. His siblings took turns sleeping with their parents, older brother, and in the upper area of the house. Two slept with Constantine, two slept with their parents an the remaining three slept in the upstairs area. As Constantine waited a breeze flew through his shaggy, wavy blonde hair. He threw one of the rocks he still held in his hand across the water.
His fiancée, Mary Alden, arrive seconds later and they sat and conversed for an hour and a half. Mary asked him so show her what he could do. Constantine laughed and stood up. Without knowing someone was watching he used his newly found powers to retrieve the rock he had thrown. He then used his powers again to make it disappear and reappear.
The person, John Partridge, who was watching them gasped and turned to report the witchcraft to the headman of the village. That’s when things turned on Constantine. After reporting to the headman, William Judson, Will told John to keep an eye on the Haven’s boy.
As the days went on; Constantine continued showing his family and Mary his powers. William, John, Sheriff Andrew Boyden, and the deputy Robert Fisk, came up with a scheme and a way to get rid of him. There had already been five people ahead of Constantine who had been accused of witch craft.
One morning while out gathering firewood Constantine was ambushed by William, John, Andrew, and Robert; along with a few villagers The cornered him and attacked but not with out sustaining injuries from Constantine’s axe. They surrounded him guns raised as they emerged fro the tree line. At first Constantine thought they were just a hunting party, but as they drew nearer he realized they weren’t and soon found himself in trouble.
He switched his axe to his left hand and set the head on his right hand. Preparing to defend himself. The mob came closer ignoring Constantine’s warning. He stepped back until his back was against a tree. He gasped as William aimed his gun at his head. William told him to surrender himself of suffer a bullet in his should or head. Constantine looked at him questioningly and asked the reasoning behind their ambush. They explained that he was a suspect of being a warlock and doing witch craft.
Constantine denied he was a warlock but told them he could do unexplainable things. John said that was proof enough; but Constantine told them to think of it as a work of God. They just laughed and said that God would not allow such impudent.
An hour later they captured him and took him, not to the jail cell, but to the under ground dungeon under the church. Where they chained him to the wall by his ankles and wrists. Constantine screamed and begged to be released but nothing seemed to phase them until he turned to the Reverend Benjamin Philips and screamed at him that God will forever deny him and all that have done this sin, to never enter the gates of Heaven, but to go down into the fiery pits of hell. The Reverand looked at him for a while and said: “God can never forgive thee for doing the forbidden arts of Witchcraft” and turned and walked away.
The clouds were hanging around and as the sun began to set there was screaming and yelling and the sound of rocks being thrown. Constantine now 18 year old was being tortured: slashed, whipped, hit smacked shot, burned and other honorably things. While they tortured him the head of the town came into view holding something he. Constantine stared at him eyes wide tears streaking his bloody, dirt cover face. In a voice raspy and dry he asked what he was going to do and what it was. The headman said that he was being punished for his sins and that god was the one powering the moves of everyone. Constantine got up and screams why this isn't how we were taught but before he was able to say anymore the 4 people around him burned, slashed, whipped and smacked him. He whimpered and stared at the headman and then as the headman raised his hand Constantine coward and closed his eyes and felt the needle enter his veins and a liquid fire enters and burn. Then the mayor grabbed him by the hair and held him there and forced him to drink the same liquid. The burning veins and the burning sensation going down his throat forced out agonizing screams. His family, forced to, couldn't do anything but sit and watch as their oldest son was tortured. Then on a dark stormy day they took Constantine out of his confinement took him to the center of town where they hung several others before him. By this time Constantine was too sore and tired to squirm and fight the only thing he could do is tremble. They forced him to stand upright and looped the noose around his neck. The headman gave a speech explaining that he was a witch and needed to be punished and that he was the leader of the recent witches found. No one did or said anything. His family watched in horror as they pulled the level and the trap door fell open and at first Constantine struggled but the struggling lasted a few seconds as the fire in his veins became the more inflamed. His family cried and cursed, but could do nothing for their son for he was now dead.
